What it does at the moment is:

RotateScreen 1.0I got tired of not having the ability to rotate my Fujitsu T4215 Tablet PC screen to a specific orientation, rather than having to cycle through them using the rotate button, so I put together a tiny program to rotate the tablet screen to a specific angle. Feel free to use this program however you like just keep the copyrights intact and don't claim that you wrote it. Usage: RotateScreen [0|9|1|2] The numbers represent angle rotation, either 0 degrees (normal laptop orientation), 90 degrees, 180 degrees or 270 degrees rotation. Sunday, June 24. 2007

Cleartype Rotator AlphaI finally got tired of resetting Cleartype whenever I rotated my tablet screen and started work on Cleartype Rotator. This is just the beginning. At the moment it can capture your font smoothing settings for each screen orientation and automatically restore those settings when you rotate your screen. The UI is just an work-in-progress interface for testing the functionality. This will evolve into a utility that lives in the tray and with no real UI. You'll be able to quickly load the Cleartype Tuner and have CTR capture your settings when needed, rotate the screen to a specific orientation and enable/disable CTR. If anyone is interested in trying it out, let me know. Wednesday, June 20. 2007Comments (0) Trackbacks (0) Last modified on 2007-06-18 23:15 Defined tags for this entry: news

It's got a laser on its head!
The lander is now in Florida from where it will takeoff for Mars in August.
Check out some of the images of the lander here. Wednesday, June 20. 2007Comments (0) Trackback (1) Defined tags for this entry: musings
Don't wait for Vista SP1!I say no way. I used vista on an HP TX1120 for part of a week and really couldn't wait to get back to XP. XP is faster. XP is more stable. XP doesn't assume that you're an idiot. UAC anyone? XP supports more devices in use today. I'm waiting for SP1 before I try Vista again. The only feature in Vista I would like to have today are the TIP improvements. The cost of the rest of Vista isn't worth it. Include a link, you doofus! Why don't reviewers include links to the products they're reviewing? This negative trend has been getting worse and worse. The review that triggered this post was of a review of Microsoft Streets & Trips over at Pencomputing.com. Not once does the author provide a link to the product home page or any place to buy the product. The latter isn't such a big deal but not providing the former just adds a burden on your readers. Are you doing reviews to aid your readers or is it just for ego? They aren't the only ones that do this. Reviews all over the web fail to provide product links. Why?! Laser powered bridgeOK, not really laser powered but lasers are being used in Wiltshire UK to alert drivers when their loads are tall enough to cause a bridge strike.
