Dancing in Oklahoma

It was a driving and dancing weekend last weekend for Susan and myself and a bunch o people up in Oklahoma.

We drove up to outside Oklahoma city on Saturday morning to give a set and ceili dance workshop. It was held in a cummunity center which had some serious personality. It was unfortunately un air-conditioned but everyone had a good sweaty time.

There was a good size dance floor which for the evening we were able to fill but for the first part of the day we had a set of people out for a bit of Clare Lancers, Haymakers Jig and Sliabh Luachra.

After running through the Haymakers Jig we broke for dinner and then back in for the ceili.

Mimi Rogers and Allison Hicks led the band which included several students from the music workshop earlier in the day.

It was a fun, hot two-hour ceili.
