Apparently the problems at Citibank and other card houses are continuing like a boulder rolling downhill and causing a landslide.
A friend of mine with Bank of America was told late last week that a block of cards had been compromised and he'd have to get a new card.
Today I came home and found a message on our answering machine that said our card had been stolen and I needed to contact the Citibank fraud center.
Upon calling I was informed that my card was part of a larger compromised block but other than that the supervisor wouldn't give me any more information other than vauge comments about the insecurity of online transations.
So now it seems we'll need one card for bills and such and another card for online purchases?
Do any of you use something like Citibank's virtual account numbers for online purchases?
How have other people out there handled this problem?
