Ok, enough testing, time to try making a transmission master for later reflection copying.

The layout is a simple 2-beam transmission.

If you look closely in this and the following photo, you'll see a shadowy red halo around Snoopy that is the holographic image of him.

For the master, I had a ton of black cards which were blocking off everything but the light used to create the hologram.  They've all been removed for these photos.

Here's the virtual image

and flipped, the real.

I've had a bit of a hiatus due to work and playing with H2 setups.  I've had such an itch to just make holograms that I've torn down the copy setup while I ponder what further optics I'll need and the geometry I can use on my small table.  In the meantime I've made a few more holograms using a two-beam setup.

Today I made a two-beam hologram of my millennium Falcon model.  It came out very bright with a light ratio of 3:1 rather than the old 8:1 of the single-beam.  It also required my longest exposure to date of 26 seconds.

This morning I shot my Celtic Cross again with the two-beam setup.  It's difficult to light correctly but is really bright.

After getting home at an ungodly hour of 1am I changed the setup to do a hologram of a Terminator I borrowed from a coworker.  Upon waking up on Friday morning I shot him.

This one should have had a 60 second exposure but I hadn't programmed R2 to count that high and did a 40 second.  It came out just fine with a bit more development.

This morning I did a couple of shots of Snoopy using the two-beam setup.  Since I'd had good results with other subjects, I had to give old faithful some time in that setup.

Today I added a backdrop to the R2 model to see how that would look.  It turned out pretty decent except that now it looks like R2 is levitating in front of a wall.

Later in the evening I added a floor to the setup so that R2 looks a tad more normal.

This morning I shot one hologram of R2 (sitting on the ground rather than floating in front of a wall) and followed up by shooting a new Celtic themed image.

Last night I added a C3PO model to the diorama with R2.

and this morning I shot a couple of holograms of that setup.

Theepio is blurry but he's interesting due to the large number of highlights on him.

It's not a great picture but this morning I shot the pig.  This is a pig that went to Jamaica with us and will soon accompany us to Ireland.  I thought he might enjoy visiting Hologram Land.
