I'm doing a project on holography and am planning to use a laser diod(~640nm) to create my hologram. Due to the fact that BB-640 plates are in short supply. What is a good plate to use? I need suggestoins for plates ~2.5x 2.5 inches. Also, for any alternative plates, how do I figgure out or get a rough estimate for exposure time?

An excelent question. I'm trying to find out my self. I've read the makers of BB-640 were recently bought out, and production isn't supposed to start until sometime this summer. It does seem you've been waiting some time for an answer, I hope one will come soon, this is what's holding me up also. Later 208.186.44.254

I use slavich pfg-01. I never used the BB-640 plates so I can't compare them for you. Here is a description of it's use with a 5 mw laser diode. http://members.aol.com/integraf/simpleholography.htm. Intefraf also sells the plates and developing kit. I have found it easy to use. I made test strips for exposure times. With this plate and the JD-2 processing kit you can judge your exposure time by the color of the final hologram. Red is under exposed, green is over exposed, gold is just right. 64.167.151.80
