I am about to purchase a kit from D&S Lasers, but they don't answer my emails or my phone calls. Are they still in business? Am I in for a bumpy ride with them? Does anybody know where I can get schematics to build my own power supply?

I have been in contact with many people who have ordered things from Frank DeFreitas some people have been waiting for over 1 year with no reply from Frank. I would recommend you look at the MDL660-35 from lasermax-inc.com for $290. It has a coherence length of 2 meters and is in stock. Today I ordered a MDL 660-35 from Laser Max. I expect it to ship this week, I'll let you know. The beam patterns from the low powered diodes have been about 3 to 1 elliptical and very clean. They tend to "mode hop" for a few minutes but after they warm up appear to be very stable. The optics to collimate the beam can be very problematic. The people I have talked to that are happiest with the collimating optics are the ones who have tried the most of the same part number. The people who have Frank's system say it has better power intensity across the beam than a HeNe. If you can get one they seem to be the ticket. I have been to your site, beautiful work. I am not at your level of expertise but I will let you know of my impressions. Thanks for showing your bench some of mine is copied from your site. 64.167.151.115
