Has anyone tried the Creative Stars spatial filter? http://www.creativestars.com/others/spatial_filter.html What spatial filters are people using?

Hi Colin, the spat. filter looks very suitable for holography. I have made my own after drawings in the Holography Handbook + pinholes from Edmund. If you are interested I can e-mail you some picture of it. my addr. is nfp3167@privat.cybercity.no 62.66.239.13

I put a design of a Spacial Filter in L.A.S.E.R. NEWS in 1990. My design is quite simple and inexpensive, anyone with access to a drill press and band saw could make one. If you want the plan send me your postal address by email: cavecrab@hom.net. I've made several of these. I could make maybe make some more. 216.46.36.95

Thank you John and Ronny the designs have been very helpful. 64.167.150.39

John, did you ever try your tilted pinhole idea for elliptical diode beams? 64.167.150.39

Yes, I tried it once. I gave up easily. 216.46.36.223

Better than tilting the pinhole, I found a company that can make an elliptical pinhole. Lenox Laser, www.lenoxlaser.com, Tel 410-592-3106. This is not a stock item but could be made as a special order. 216.46.36.59

John, sounds expensive. Did you get a price? I think photo etching could be used to make an accurate elliptical pin hole. Any one know for sure? BTW. John, I sent you an e-mail but my server can not deliver it, did you ever recieve my reply to your last e-mail? 64.167.149.76

Colin, sorry for the slow response; I've been doing other things than holography. No it isn't too expensive. I talked to the president of Lenox LASER, Joseph P. d'Entremont (Joe Dent) some time in the last year. He is a very friendly and talkative person. He said he maybe could produce an elliptical pinhole. I think the price he said was in the range of $200 to $300. It is more than I have to spend right now. Give him a call, I think he'll like to try making one. You will enjoy talking to him. 216.46.36.14
