Is the focal length of a concave lens equal to a convex length?

I am not sure I understand your question. If you draw a cone starting at a negative focal length (behind a concave lense) you can compare it with the cone after a positive focal point. Does this make any sense? If your goal is to spread a laser beam both lenses are useful. 64.170.192.83
