Assuming you mean single mode fiber optic cable, one source is Thorlabs - http://www.thorlabs.com/ They have SM cable for visible through IR, but I doubt that for distances of one or two metres it will make much if any difference. regards, tom 24.77.186.35

Thank you Tom. What I am trying to do is make an object beam from a place I can't fit a mirror. So I need a fiber that does not change the polarizaton. Can you recommend one? They offer about 50. 64.167.150.182

On p. 298 of their catalogue they have some 3M single mode polarization maintaining fibers, for example FS-PM-4611 for 820 nm, $13.23 per meter. Much cheaper than the Lucent PM fiber (p.308) at $32/m. Caveat - I have no idea how well this stuff would work in a holography setup, or even whether for very short cables you really need the PM cable, or single mode for that matter. Optics is not really my field of expertise. 24.67.253.203

Thank you Tom. I talked with Thorlabs and the attenuation at 658nm would make this cable unsuitable. The only thing thay can offer is to post polarize the beam with a polarization controller for $3,9995.00! I'll keep searching. I guess if I had enough power I could just put a polarizer in front of the output from the cable. 64.167.150.182
