I'm posting an updated version of the forum archive now. If you get a broken link, just try again (the upload is in progress and should be finished sometime in the next 30 minutes).

You don't have to change anything. I forgot that I needed to copy the index page to the default startup page. That's done now and your link works again.

It'll probably be a week or so before the Nov 2003 - Jan 2004 material is googlable.

"I don’t suppose we could get archived copy of the database file? .mdb?"

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want an .mdb of the forum, or a copy of some other database file?

If you want a local copy of the forum I can get you a zip of it (it's 26MB).

Hi,
Yes the .mdb file for the forum, if it is no trouble.

Re: Re: Re: Database file?January 15 2004, 10:19 AM

There is no .mdb file for the forum. It's all raw html. If you'd like a zip of that just let me know where to send it and I can ftp it to you tonight.

DatabaseJanuary 15 2004, 10:32 AM

I click the Database Compiled and hosted at the top and it gives you an executable which then extracts to an .mdb.

“There is no .mdb file for the forum. It's all raw html.”
Okay, never mind then.
“I click the Database Compiled and hosted at the top and it gives you an executable which then extracts to an .mdb.”
That DB has some good info in it, but it is rather dated.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Re: Re: DatabaseJanuary 15 2004, 11:27 AM

What do you have in mind?

I don't have the space to host the archive and a zipped version of the archive at the same time (yet) but if you'd like a copy to play with just let me know where I can ftp it (26MB) and I'll be happy to do that.

No, you don't want to go messing around with the site. It's perfect just the way it is and no one wants it any different.

Thank you!

Can you provide a link on this page?

Or should I provide a link in the header of the forum?

Feb 5 updateFebruary 9 2004, 7:04 AM

The update from Feb 5 now being uploaded (give it until about 9:30am CST) in web and zip form.

This update is actually a merge with June 16, 2003 and Feb 5, 2004 and includes a number of images that network54 had purged during that period.

Archive partially updated...March 16 2004, 3:57 PM

I've had a chance to do some perl'ing and file renaming and I'll do a true update of the archive sometime "soon".

In the meantime I've uploaded a version of the archive that has had all the names changed in such a way that I think google will stop ignoring them.

With any luck this will mean that within a few weeks you'll be able to do a full google search on the archive and won't have to rely on the flaky searching of network54.
