altho i may not be able to attend ...because we live on a fix income and things are a bit tight right now.

there is some thing i can do for the group...for the last 6 years Ive been doing for kids camp a Presentation CD, filled with the audio of the speakers that week, a camp group photo, and photos of the week...also included in that CD is video....what i do is take video clips of the day ... and mix them together and put them on the cd...also we have the kids make a blue screen video (in witch theirs 4 teams- 4 videos)....and for the adults i make a DVD of camp

oosssssss i was thinking why cant we do this for the Gathering.......all i would need is photos...audio ..and dv tape....and i could up it all to gather in a nice package

Good ideaMarch 16 2004, 10:27 AM

We think alike. I've got a dv camera and editing suite and I've got plans to film all the discussions.

If I can swing it I'd like to provide a live webcast for the people who can't make it. Unfortunately the more I look into it, the less likely it seems I can do that without additional hardware and software that I won't have the time or money to set up.

In any case I'll be putting the videos together into a CD set that I can send to the participants after the gathering.

Danny, that is choreographed beautifully!March 16 2004, 11:39 AM

Excellent!!! Makes me want to join. Can you do something of that quality without actually being there?

I like the speed changes and the pans in and out! Also the subtitles are very good! You do a good job.

Air FareMarch 16 2004, 12:13 PM

I looked at Orbitz.com yesterday and from Baltimore to Dallas/Fort Worth Air Port was only $270 round trip. Still a lot but not as much as I expected.

weigh the costsMarch 16 2004, 12:25 PM

It would be another $33 for a shuttle to and from the airport (each way) but lodging would be free if you stayed with Andres (he's still got a sleeper sofa available).

On the other hand, what's the value of being able to spend time talking face to face with other holographers?

I had an opportunity to spend an afternoon with Lon Moore (along with Colin and Jonathan) last year and you can believe I didn't think twice about flying out (and I don't spend my money lightly). I know now that even if it had been an afternoon with only Colin and Jonathan that it still would have been worth the costs.

Perhaps, but I know everytime I am in the studio I remember something that Lon told us that I did not quite usderstand the significance of till I needed to. I am still learning from that day.

Thank you again Lon!

Thanks for the offerMarch 16 2004, 12:28 PM

That's very gracious of you.

For the moment I think I'll see what I can make of it since I too have the necessary hardware and software.
