OK, This procedure is only limited by the resolution of the LCD screen. As higher resolution screens become available this proposed technique can be shortened. In the following example a Stereogram hologram will be made with 32 slides but only require 4 exposures. 8 of the 32 slides are compressed in the horizontal directions and lined up side by side on the LCD screen. For a screen with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 the individual slits will have a resolution of 200 x 1200. For the nature of a Stereogram hologram and the overlap that the two eyes see, that resolution should be quite adequate. Less slits yield a higher resolution with an increase in the number of exposures. Even a 2:1 will result in half the exposures. Those 8 "squished" slides that are on the LCD screen are shot in a typical Stereogram set-up and imaged on a larger slit section of the holographic plate which will contain subdivided sections of each of the 8 slits. A custom optic, which is an array of cylindrical lenses arranged in a focusing manner is in between the LCD screen and the Holographic plate. The plate in then advanced such that the next section of "slits" can be imaged. In this example only 4 exposures are needed for 32 slides.

My original idea is to have all 32 slides imaged at once but I will have to wait for the High Resolution Plasma transmission screens. When that happens I can implement the first part of my idea which is to have a conjugate "custom cylindrical lens array" as the focusing mechanism on a digital camera that records all of the slits simultaneously.
