02/7/7
6:33 am got up to see what the morning would bring. The people of Legends are already bustling about. It's a pretty, bright & clear morning

This is a view from the gate of the property, which lets us out at Manley Blvd.

Just outside the gate is a view down the boulevard toward town.  At 6:30 on a Sunday there isn't much traffic.

Ahhhh.  A freshly swept beach with chairs waiting...

The day's first dip into the sea.

A view along the beach toward town.  From Legends, it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to town if you're going at a brisk pace.

One of the morning lizards.  Keep a sharp eye out and you'll see these guys everywhere.

Just outside our room were two holes in the ground, each 5" in diameter and each had a crab in it.  One looked like an alien with a permanent smile (above) and the other was slightly larger and sandy-brown with eyestalks sticking up in the air.

12:26 pm we went on a 10am reef snorkel with Moses. saw barracuda, neon blue, yellow fishies (sergeant majors?). Lost the pig for a while (good thing he's pink) & ran from some jellyfish. We're back at Legends, relaxing on the beach. Rambo saved us a few chairs. The beach is full of all sorts of people (mostly of German persuasion)

Apparently the Germans laugh at Americans for only taking one week for vacation.  Many of the Germans staying at Legends were staying for four or more.

Garth and his assistant.

Dwayne, making sure we don't hit anyone.

Below, we have a series of pictures taken with the underwater camera during our time at the reef.

The two above are MPEG movies that we took on the way back from the reef trip.  Click on the stills to view them.

Coming up on Legends from the sea side of things.

3:01 pm yoga mwf 9:30 $10 1hr
1hr massage $50
Midnight black kitty that knows she owns the yoga deck.
Times square Rasta Park & Snoopy shirts (opens at 9:00)
need real jerk chicken!
We made a trek toward town to the Yoga Center to find out when non-residents could take a class.  They let people in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30am.  We made plans to go back the next day for a class.
We then stopped by Times Square (which is right next to Legends) to look in some shops.  There were a couple of shirts I thought about getting but we held off until we could shop around a bit more.

Up to then the jerk chicken at Legends was nothing more than mildly spiced barbecue chicken. I really wanted something heavily spiced.

Snorkel pig!

A couple of starfish that we were playing with.  We found them not far from the buoys offshore from Legends and put them together to see what they would do.  Nothing.  They ignored each other and continued on their spiney ways.

Here's a panorama of the beach near Legends.  It was late in the day, so the area toward the sun is washed out. Scroll to the right to see more and click on the picture to bring up a larger version.

3:13 pm and the heavens have opened. Good thunder and a light rain that, moments later, turned into a heavy rain. Saw two lizards playing tag, one stopped & bobbed with his bright red dewlap showing

Our future home.  Unfortunately a giant came by on the following evening and destroyed it, so we won't be moving in after all.

7:48 pm now at dinner. Went to an internet cafe earlier (no luck with the camera) & built a sand castle.
We wanted to transfer some of the pictures to folks back home but couldn't get the drivers to install properly.

Dwayne asked if he could take a shot through our camera.  Nice sunset.

Susan, picking up shells by the shore.

8:48 pm post-dinner (a crab invaded my castle)
The crab had appeared from under the deck at legends. Susan and I had been looking for our feline friends when Susan saw the crab. We were watching it when a group of Germans started walking down the steps. (No, we didn't say anything; we wanted to see what would happen.) The first woman in the group saw it came unglued which caused some commotion. The other woman started following the crab, and it retreated by climbing over a wall and into the courtyard of my castle (perhaps thinking that the darkness there was from a hole). It then climbed over another wall and and eventually into the sea.
