7:53 am
sitting on the beach after gathering some shells for liz & the castle.
Had breakfast of french toast.
Some people are snorkeling for shells close to the waters edge.
11:13 am just finished yoga with Gabby
We had to wait a bit as she was running late. That was ok; we did a bit
of yoga before "class." She's a good instructor who took time
to correct us when we needed it and generally help improve our form.
2:09 pm lazing at the beach after a large lunch. Castle is still there but slowly drying out & crumbling.
4:38 pm spent some time with Dwayne, fixing the castle. Swam a bit & went clamming,
Decorated the castle with clams. Crazy Germans throwing each other in the ocean. Came into the bar during a rainstorm. The castle melted only a little but was later trampled by someone.
Sandy the cross-eyed cat let us pet her.
We had noticed the clams the night before. They're fun to watch as the
surf uncovers them, they lift themselves up and wiggle back down into the
sand. Dwayne showed us how to uncover as many as we wanted and we gathered
quite a lot to decorate the castle. Their colors ranged from white through
red, violet, brown, etc.
This was the night that Sandy (as we came to call her because of all the sand
that was in her coat the first time we were able to pet her) let Susan pet
her. Up to this point, it was clear that she wasn't going to let us touch
her (you may feed me, but not touch me) but tonight, she let Susan pet her right
off.
After repairing some of the walls I began adding a new tower.
Dwayne, putting the finishing touches on the wall.
Now he's adding a new courtyard outside the new tower.
A pleasant, rainy afternoon. On most days we got some rain in the afternoon.
Susan looks like she's conducting a séance but is really just shuffling some cards.
The picture above links to the video I took of the rain.
6:46 pm dinner at Kuyaba, still raining. Sky chairs in the bar.
'ritas (3) from hell, lobster, screaming banana, pumpkin crab cakes, nice people.
The sky chairs looked like a fun way to hang out (no pun intended) at the
bar, but we were there for dinner! :-) and dinner was wonderful. The
lobster that Susan ordered came out as two halves of a whole grilled
lobster. We split the lobster and crab cakes between us and man was it
wonderful food! Now for the 'ritas from hell. Imagine a Margarita
glass full of tequila. Now dip a lime in it. That's what these were
like. Very very strong with a hint of lime flavor. We were really
glad that we only had to walk across the street to get "home."
The people, environment and food at Kuyaba are great. We highly recommend them.
8:45 pm walk on the beach, ice cream for dessert. Big ice cream bars.
By this time, we were full, happy and ready for bed.
